Connecting a motor using a L293D motor driver chip

This schematics shows how to connect a generic DC motor to a Wiring digital or PWM pin. The L293D motor driver chip allows to connect up to two DC motors to the Wiring I/O board. Verify that the voltage applied to the motor (Motor +V) is in the range supported by it. An optional 74HC10 Chip can be used to control the direction of the motors by using an additional Wiring I/O board digital output pin. There is variety of motors available in the market and different factors like, voltage power, torque etc must be taken into consideration when choosing the right one for an application
