I am planning to use this for AC load, to measure power consumption
wiring.org.co/learning/basics/currentacs712.html

Can you give me an idea as to how to go about this , consider I have a lamp plugged in to an AC outlet, where should I place the input terminals.

Thanks in advance.

hi, look at the bulb connection in the following example http://wiring.org.co/learning/basics/lightbulb.html the two terminals should be connected to the bulb terminals that go into the breadboard. Check the datasheet as well: http://www.sparkfun.com/datasheets/BreakoutBoards/0712.pdf
Never put or connect the two measuring tips of the AC712 directly to a wall power outlet, note how the measuring tips are connected to a circuit in series. Please let me know if you need any help or have any doubt on this.
