What is the best approach to test if the Wiring board is functioning properly?

the Wiring board originally has this program loaded, if you changed it try to upload this program again, the board amber led should blink after uploading and reset:

int ledPin = 48;           // LED connected to the Wiring I/O board pin 0

void setup()
  pinMode(ledPin, OUTPUT); // sets the digital pin as output

void loop()
  digitalWrite(ledPin, HIGH);   // sets the LED on
  delay(100);                  // waits for a second
  digitalWrite(ledPin, LOW);    // sets the LED off
