Hello all,

I have a wiring board along with a Xbee starters kit. The Xbee starter kit has two boards, one is a Serial RS-232 interface and the other a USB interface. The USB one is the base, and the RS-232 is the remote. Now I have wired up my Wiring board so that the output usb goes to a USB->serial(RS-232) converter and then to the RS-232 interface board (remote). When I start my program (which sends serial data when it is directly plugged into computer via) the remote board does not send data to the base. I don't know what to do! How can I get the remote to recognize the signal and transmit it to the base??

Thanks
-Ara

hey, why don´t you use the sencod serial port available in Wiring?
Wiring has 2 Serial ports you can use, check this diagram:
http://wiring.org.co/hardware/index.html#050

then use Serial1 instead of Serial to use pins 2 and 3 RX and TX pins:
