Is there any way for Processing (or any other programming language) to call wiring board functions? Something like Arduino Firmata? I just  need wiring to act as an I/O card for my laptop. I have  to controll a lot of things over two minutes and I am worried wiring does not offer enough space for my program.

hi, Wiring program spaece is very large compared to other systems. You can find more information here: http://wiring.org.co/ioboard/compare.html
We are working on the port of a library to allow that , but even if it is not available yet, you can communicate wiring and processing in a very easy manner, please check the examples here: http://wiring.org.co/learning/index.html under the section Wiring + Other Software.

I must admit the space is very large and it should be more than I need. Still in case I need to use wiring as an I/O board it would be a great hassle to use the serial to send all the comands I need for the project. Depending on the project details I will chose between wiring or arduino + firmata.

Thank you
