Title: upload from controller?
Post by Vaccumdiode2 on 01/19/11 at 18:11:28
Hello,
Can you upload a program from the wiring board to the computer?   I may have loast the last version of my program.  But it is still on the wiring board.

Thank you,

This is a very common question.

The basic answer is no. You can retreive it but it will be in HEX code and so will not be of much use to you.
I suggest you try and 'find' the program as you wrote it. There are many undelete programs available.

Hello,
Thank you for your help.   I had a feeling that it was going to go this way.  I had hoped that Wiring could decompile it.

Mowcius,
Would I use the AVR studio to retrive the HEX file?

I'm afraid I have never done it.

I suggest you have a google around.

You can't decompile it unfortunately.
Programs can be written in many different ways so a decompiler (if one was written) would not decode it into the same code as you had written anyway.

hello,
The program works fine as is.  If I can upload it in a HEX file, Then I could download the HEX file into another board.
