Title: Methane CNG Gas Sensor - MQ-4 - problem wiring
Post by body28 on 11/29/10 at 10:48:01
hello. I'm asking for help in my first post, not very elegant but..
I have this sensor: Methane CNG Gas Sensor - MQ-4
Under it says Wiring example. Very nice, very beautiful, all seems perfect.
Sorry - no links, i can't post links right now.
But i have one major problem. As you can see in this picture, i can't figure out which is which. Left, right? How can i tell?
Please help, because I'm afraid I'll toast it and it was kind of expensive :(

This picture is the most eloquent: "chinaeds.net/photos/2009227134232_232767_MQ-4%28QM-N4%29.JPG"
It is symmetrical :(

This is sad -

From the datasheet, you can see http://www.sparkfun.com/datasheets/Sensors/Biometric/MQ-4.pdf
there are two A pins two B pins and two H pins, so you can connect it exactly as this one http://wiring.org.co/learning/basics/airqualitymq135.html
Sparkfun also provides for a breakout board to solder this sensor http://www.sparkfun.com/products/8891 check it out and let me know.

Hello and thank you very much for the prompt answer.
But, the question wasn't exactly that. I just can't figure out where is A and where is B.
"chinaeds.net/photos/2009227134232_232767_MQ-4(QM-N4).JPG" you need the w.w.w in front to view the photo. Sorry.
Please have a look at this picture.
Should i rotate the sensor to the left and i'll have A H A in the left? Or rotate it right? :(

see how there are two groups, left and right, they are sort of marked or grouped it doesn't matter which side you use as long as you are consistent.
