My first Newbie Question: When i try to save my sketches, i get an strange error message: "Some files are marked "read only", so you'll need to re-save this sketch to another location".

THX for any answers ...

Hi Peter,

Welcome!
a few questions from our side to help you:

What wiring version software are you using?

what OS?

Where did you buy your wiring?

Where is your software located?

Well, that was nearly all
Titus

Hi Titus

At First: Sorry for wasting your time. Maybe i made a very big mistake. I don't bought a wiring board - I bought an Aduirno 2009 and try to use the wiring IDE to communicate with.

Unfortunately the error message is the same with the IDE from Aduirno ...

OS: WinXP
Wiring IDE: 017

Problem: I open a sketch, make some changes and want to save them. The described error message appears. I can't use "Save", only "Save as ..." in a new folder. This problem is endless - after every change i can only use "Save as ..." Very strange ...

Hi Peter,

At first, no wasting here.
A question is a question, and it should be answered. Where would we be if we didn't answer questions?

You bought an arduino 2009, well then try this software:
http://www.arduino.cc/files/arduino-0012-win.zip
it's from the www.arduino.cc website
if it's still not working try the arduino fora; the might know better what the error could be since their last update:

http://www.arduino.cc/cgi-bin/yabb2/YaBB.pl

btw, you can't open examples and change stuff and save it; they are read only ;)

Good luck

Titus

Found it ... and it was so easy   :-[

Only the sketches in the "example"-Folders (where i meant to put my personal projects in) are write-protected. Probably the developers want that the examples beeing untouched. Creating a new folder above or in level with the example folder works fine ...

THX for your ears and eyes!

Edith: Yes, Titus, you're right!  ::)
