Title: Futurlec ET-AVR Stamp with Wiring. Anyone?

Has anyone successfully flashed Wiring bootloader and is using Wiring in Futurlec ET-AVR Stamp?

I am going to change my question: Is it possible to use this board with Wiring? What do I need to burn the bootloader? Could I use the ISP sold by this company to do it?

I am asking this since I read that Wiring is open source. Not sure if this "open source" also means open hardware.

I would like to read some reply from Hernando Barragán.

Respectfully,

Juan C.

Yes it is possible, you could use the AVRISP from digikey to burn the bootloader using the ISP port. Also using their free avttools software. The Wiring bootloader source code and binary hex file are here: http://wiring.uniandes.edu.co/source/trunk/wiring/bootloader/

You just have to be careful about pin numbering etc. Check out the Wiring pin numbering at http://wiring.org.co/download

Gracias Hernando. I am going to try it.

Hello

I bought a ET-AVR-JTAG USB and a ET-AVR MEGA128 Stamp, about 8 months ago.  I finally had time to hook them up and download the wiring bootloader.  I got the drivers and AVR software to work and they found the board.  I programmed the bootloader  setting all the correct fuses.  After that the board could not be recognized, it just said no board found.   Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you

Vaccumdiode

might be a wrong fuse, how did you burn the bootloader? which bootloader version did you burn? are you choosing the right bootloader version from the environment? (step 4 here: http://wiring.org.co/hardware/softwaresetup.html)

H,
      I used AVR Studio 4.12+SP4 build498 to burn wiringV1boot_SwitchPE2_LedPG2.hex I got From
http://www.avride.com/article/wiring/
I used the fuse and other settings as follows

Fuse setting is same as Wiring Board

Extended: 0xFF
High: 0xCC
Low: 0x3F

Important bit fuse
Boot Flash size 1024 words : BOOTSZ=10
Boot Reset vector enable : BOOTRST=0
CKOPT=0
BOD at 4.0V, : BODLEVEL=0
BOD enable : BODEN=0
Ext. crystal/resonator High Freq.; Start-up time 16K CLK + 64ms. : CKSEL=1111 SUT=11
Watchdog disable: WDTON=0
OCD disable: OCDEN=0
JTAG disable: JTAGEN=0
SPIEN enable: SPIEN=0

It loaded it and said everything was okay.  I tryed running the test programm(flashing LED PGO)  That was loaded with the boatloader( or so I think) and nothing.  I saw that it says PG2 so i moved my wire from PG0 to PG2. still nothing.  I hooked up the programmer again it could not find the board.

Thank you,
Vaccumdiode

H,
The serial port works  But I get these two messages.  I believe I have firmware 2x.

Message x1(firmware) com5

The Selected Serial Port -> /dev/com5 does not exist or your board is not connected

Message x2(firmware) com5

Uploading to wiring hardware...     // Locks up upload

Serial message
Serial avrdude:  ser_open():  can't open device  "\\.\com5":  Access denied

Thanks

ok, this looks more like a serial problem, no com5 in your machine, try to see what serial port number is your usb adapter, this can be established by unplug the adapter check the Tools -> Serial port menu, then close the menu, plug the adapter and check again Tools -> Serial port to see which new port appears

H,
I had a little brain storm on the way to work today.  I have a standard wiring board.  so I'm going to hook up my USB adapter to it and see if it works then.  Any sugestions for me?  I figure I'll use the Tx and RX we normally use.

Thanks
Vaccumdiode.

For code uploading the Wiring bootloader uses the Serial on the USB which is also available on pins 32 and 33 of the Wiring board (use those pins with your serial adapter). Let me know.
