Title: OS
Post by BrandonFurtwangler on 10/14/06 at 18:27:32
Has anyone started writing a small OS for the wiring board?

I'm basically just looking for memory management and cooperative multitasking.

It should be a simple project to come up with something to meet my needs but I'd like to see if someone already did this work.

If it's for your own use, buy the micro-c-OS book for $70 and then download the port for the ATMEGA128

You might want to look at the Quantum Processing framework from http://www.quantum-leaps.com; the Nano version is available under the GPL. Should work with Wiring (though I haven't looked into it). It supports a rich finite state machine approach (hierarchical, multiple FSMs, etc.).
